Venture from the campground in your off-road vehicle to the mountains or mountain bike along the forestry service roads that track alongside the river or through wooded trails, meadows and mountain tops. Get wet and paddle the river, raft the river or set into Columbia Lake, just 10 minutes away from the campground. Hot springs and rivers through-out Columbia Valley offer incredible views while hiking, OHV’ing, and bicycling if you prefer to stay dry. Stay at a full-service or power site, a boondocking no service site, or a SoftTop tent with modern hand-made furniture, linens, a deck with chairs and power. Enjoy the boundless recreation and pristine wilderness that our location offers and then relax at the bonfire and stare at the stars. We look forward to welcoming you.

The campground is located on the shores of the Kootenay River and minutes away from the shores Columbia Lake. Making the location even more spectacular is that we are in the valley between the Rocky Mountain and Purcell Mountain range. Every adventure you can dream of is accessible from Camp Kootenay River. OHV’s can rumble from your site out to the Forestry Service Road alongside the camp and up to the mountains or along the river. You can hike or bike from the campground, set-in your kayak or canoe or raft from the campground, or trailer to Columbia Lake or other nearby lakes, rivers – and hot springs.
The campground offers scenic camp sites, from full-service to power only to no service boondocking. We also provide fully furnished glamping tents with beds, bedding, furniture, deck & power for your convenience if you want to camp but don’t want to gear up. We have an office with supplies & sundries, sport equipment rental, propane, eV chargers, playground, volleyball court, park area, picnic tables, fire pits, with the river only steps away. The town of Canal Flats is minutes away with a gas station, an incredible coffee house, a pub open on weekends, and grocery store.
